Regional and Sectoral Patterns

Display the Trade Cost Index in a given year by sector or aggregated to a group of sectors. Choose between data aggregated to regions, income groups or for individual economies. View economies with the highest trade costs and economies with the lowest trade costs in each sector.

How to use this database:

  • This database contains estimates generated using an economic gravity model. The reported values are model outputs based on specified assumptions and input data; they are not observed values or official statistics and should be interpreted accordingly, see Methodology.
  • The composition of regions and income groups is available in the List of Economies and Sectors.
  • Economy-sector data points should be interpreted with caution, especially for economies with limited availability of the underlying national data - see the OECD's Annex to the 2025 ICIO edition.
